Obituary

Dewey Marshall, Jr., age 90, of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at St. Joseph Main in Lexington.

Born April 26, 1930, in Harrison County, he was the last survivor of nine children born to the late Dewey Marshall, Sr., and Zelia Gardner Marshall.  In addition to his parents and siblings, Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Alice Ann Tedder Marshall; his 7-year-old son, Charles Clinton Marshall (twin to Susan); his daughter, Elizabeth Ann White; a granddaughter, Angela Diane Lykins; a grandson, Ronnie Marshall, Jr.; and three sons-in-law, David Bailey, Anthony Jolly, and Paul Harris.

Junior is survived by one son, Ronald Dean (Barbara) Marshall of Panama City, Florida; four daughters, Pamela Diane Harris of Menifee County, Shirley Janice Jolly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, Peggy Lynn (Kurt) Sjolander of Park Falls, Wisconsin, and Susan (Harold) Akers of Mt. Sterling; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Junior was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed taking care of his family, working on the farm; and playing with his dogs, Bailee and Little Bit.  He was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hamm officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Flemingsburg.

Pallbearers:  Shawn Marshall, Anthony Marshall, Cody Jolly, Stephen Jolly, Brian Burton, and Charles Ashley Marshall.  Honorary pallbearers:  Matthew Burton and Bill Montgomery.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
