Everett Earl Anderson, Sr., age 82, of Vanceburg, formerly of Tilton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Vanceburg Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lewis County.
Born June 22, 1944, at Tilton in Fleming County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Warren Roger Anderson and Bessie Mae Vice Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Judy Ann Ratliff Anderson, on June 2, 2025; and two sons, Everett Anderson, Jr., on November 25, 2005, and Tim Anderson, on March 23, 2023.
Everett is survived by eight grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Anderson, Jami Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Jarred Anderson, Nautica Anderson, Aidan Anderson, Heath Anderson, and Amber Moore; and four great-grandchildren, James Anderson, Jackson Anderson, Jacob Anderson, and Cori James.
Other survivors include his sister, Mary Ruth Anderson Martin of Jeffersonville; two daughters-in-law, Connie Reeves Anderson of Fleming County and Connie Richmond Anderson of Bowling Green; and a special niece, Marissa Ratliff Hancock of Millersburg. He is also lovingly remembered by other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Everett retired from janitorial services for an industry in Lexington, Kentucky. Prior to that, he worked for a manufacturing company building kitchen and bath countertops. He also worked alongside his wife as caretakers of the Campbell Mountain Girl Scout Camp in Hillsboro and provided transportation for the Amish community.
A devoted follower of Christ, Everett was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church, where he served as custodian for several years.
Everett found great joy in spending time with his family and traveling with his wife to various parks and country music concerts. He had a deep love for old country music, especially the songs of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, his favorites. Everett also enjoyed singing at the nursing home and taking pride in caring for and mowing his lawn. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsboro Christian Church Youth Group in Everett’s memory, 85 Denton Street, Hillsboro, KY 41049 (Attn: Norman Harn).
