Gay Goldy

Gay Goldy, age 86, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, September 21, 2026, at UK Hospice Center in Lexington.

Born May 24, 1940, in Salt Lick, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Avery Goldy and Sylvia Norris Goldy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Lizzie McCarty Norris and Joe and Effie Hardin Goldy; a brother, Danny Dale Goldy; five aunts, Mayme Parish, Carrie Crouch, Artie McKinley, Ilo Staton, and Lena Greer; four uncles, Clytis “Buck” Norris, Gilbert Norris, Medford Morris, and Claude Goldy; an infant nephew; and her beloved little Pug, Annie, who was her constant companion.

Gay is survived by three special nephews and their wives, Johnny and Robin Goldy of Hillsboro, Teddy and Brenda Goldy of Fillmore, California, and Mikie and Tasha Goldy of Hillsboro; three great-nieces, Rachel Goldy, Morgan Goldy, and Rylan Goldy; a great-nephew, Cranston Goldy; an aunt, Louise Norris Dinn of Losantville, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Goldy of Hillsboro; two special friends, Melissa Tackett of Flemingsburg and Jeri Johnson of Winchester; and 23 cousins who were as close as siblings.

She was a graduate of Maysville Community College and was a retired nursing supervisor at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington. Gay loved to travel and, most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother James Hickerson, Lois Hannah, and Tim Greer officiating. The Buffalo Trace Nurses Honor Guard will honor Gay for her dedicated service in nursing. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery, Midland, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Goldy, Teddy Goldy, Mikie Goldy, Daryl Greer, Bruce Norris, Cranston Goldy, Matthew Greer, and Anthony Tremaine.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Norris, Steve McKinley, Jerry McKinley, Faron Norris, Robert Snedegar, Tyler Story, and Ginnie Stephens.

Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
