George Raymond Lands, age 66, of Watson Road, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at his home.
Born March 21, 1955, in LaPorte, Indiana, he was a son of the late Charles Oliver Lands and Helen Faye Fultz Lands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Keshia Taylor; a sister, Mae Brown; a brother-in-law, Steve Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Lands.
George is survived by his wife, Jane Hinton Lands; a daughter, Alisa Susan Ellis of Goddard; a son, Russell Allen Burchett of Hillsboro; three granddaughters, Jasmine Amelia Green and husband Andrew of Maysville, Elizabeth Grace Ellis and Maggie Rose Ellis, both of Hillsboro; and a great grandson, Oliver Anderson Green.
Other survivors include five brothers, David (Vickie) Lands of Haldeman, John (Debbie) Lands and Roy (Robin) Lands, all of Carter County, Sam (Billie Jo) Lands of Morehead, and Andy (Paula) Lands of Hillsboro; four sisters, Pauline (Frank) Harper of Haldeman, Susan (Arnie) Henderson of Owingsville, Alice Johnson and Melany (James) Harper, all of Morehead; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George was a retired electrician and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, restoring classic cars, traveling, and especially spending time with family. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Andy Lands, Pastor Roy Lands, and Pastor John Lands officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Gary Ray, Andrew Green, David Henderson, Tracy McClain, Jody Perkins, and James Harper.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY
