Norman Douglas Harn, age 85, of Orchard Road, Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born December 29, 1940, in Fleming County, Norman was the son of the late Harry Douglas Harn and Ann B. James Harn.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Sandra Story Harn, whom he married July 28, 1962; his son, Bradley Douglas Harn of Hillsboro; his daughter, Kristin Leigh Harn of Lexington; his sister, Joyce Richards of Lexington; as well as extended family and many friends.
Norman graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in business. He enjoyed a successful career with IBM, working in Lexington, Kentucky; Charlotte, North Carolina; and New York. He retired in 1997 as a project manager.
A lifelong farmer, Norman took great pride in raising cattle, working the land and caring for his farm. He also assisted in managing the Hillsboro Cemetery, dedicating many years to maintaining and caring for the cemetery and serving his community. Norman was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school and Bible study. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 581.
Norman will be remembered for his love of farming, his devotion to his family, and serving those around him. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
Masonic rites will be observed at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested in his memory to the Hillsboro Christian Church, 85 Denton Street, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
