Pamela Jane “Pam” Jolly Trent, age 67, of Orchard Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead following an extended illness.

Born September 5, 1958, in Maysville, Kentucky, Pam was the daughter of the late Herbert Clever Jolly and Charlotte Crain Jolly. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Linden Gilbert Trent, on March 24, 2026.

Pam is survived by two aunts, Mae Ramey of Flemingsburg and Fay Lewis of Carlisle, Ohio; her best friend since the third grade, Carol Thompson of Hillsboro; a special friend, Becky McGinnis of Flemingsburg; her faithful Farm Manager, Andy McDonald of Hillsboro; along with a multitude of cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Pam retired from the Fleming County Board of Education after 37 years of dedicated service as secretary-bookkeeper for Hillsboro Elementary School. Earlier in her career, she worked at Purvis Honda, Jerry’s IGA, and Peoples Bank of Fleming County.

Pam was a strong supporter of the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department as her father, Herbert Jolly, was one of the original organizers and fire chief for several years.

Pam had a true love for the country life and especially enjoyed farming and caring for the family’s Charolais cattle. To friends and family throughout Hillsboro, she was affectionately known as the “Cake Lady,” sharing her delicious creations from her in-home bakery. She was also well known for her country hams.

Pam was a fiercely competitive lady who gave her all to everything she did. She was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed watching her favorite television show, Survivor. She had a special love for her cats and dogs and found great joy in the simple things of country living.

Those who knew Pam will remember her for her strong personality, independent spirit, generosity, and the many ways she brought joy to the people around her. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Fleming County Cemetery, with retired principal Mark Leet officiating.

Pallbearers will be Andy McDonald, Tommy McDonald, Gary Jolly, Daryl Harmon, Shawn Fearin, and Brian Cooper.

At Pam’s request, there will be no visitation.
