Scoby Lloyd McClanahan, age 87, of Hope Hill Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at his residence.

Born June 14, 1936, in Lewis County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Richard "Test" McClanahan and Pearlie Rickett McClanahan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings, Walter Elwood, Russell, Ernest Rufus "Hoop", Emril and Tommy McClanahan, Loretta McClanahan, Rose Ella McClanahan, Sudie Lewis and Ruth Hitch.

Scoby is survived by his wife, Gearldine Johnson McClanahan, whom he married November 5, 1968; one son, Jeff McClanahan of Flemingsburg; one sister, Iva Jewell Thompson of Maxey Flat, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Scoby was a farmer and enjoyed the outdoors, mowing the yard, and sitting on his front porch enjoying life.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Tommy Hamm, Billy Dyer, Bill Story, Dalton McClanahan, John Story, Shane Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers: Bob Newell, Kermit Gulley, Amanda McClanahan.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023, and after 10 a.m. Monday at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
