Bonnie Lou Fawns Burriss, age 71, of Colfax Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born June 13, 1952, in Grange City, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Christine Pickrell Fawns. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Fawns, and a sister, Janice Louise Fawns Jolly.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Glenn Burriss, whom she married April 16, 2011; two brothers, Donnie “Hot Shot” (Sharon) Fawns and Bruce (Dolly) Fawns, both of Hillsboro; three sisters, Dixie Craft of Morehead, Pat Dailey of Flemingsburg, and Rachel Williams of Maysville; one special sister-in-law, Lillian Fawns of Flemingsburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Bonnie was a homemaker and a former employee of U.S. Shoe, Jockey International, and Randall Textron. For years, she babysat several children in the community, and loved them all like they were her own. She was a member of the Grange City Christian Church.
She enjoyed working puzzles and dot to dot books, watching television, tending to her flowers and spending time with family and friends. Bonnie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Randy Hawkins and Pastor Willie Skaggs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles “Chubby” Curtis, Adam Hawkins, Josh Konopka, Darrin Fawns, Travis Fawns, Dr. Stephen Damron, and Monty Jent. Honorary pallbearers will be children she babysat.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
