Elizabeth "Janie" (Drake) Lindsey

Elizabeth “Janie” Drake Lindsey, age 69, of Days Mill Road, Hillsboro, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at U.K. St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born May 5, 1955, in Rowan County, and was a daughter of the late John Drake and Lillian Emogene Hamm Sparber.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Angelia Sparber Corder.

Janie is survived by one son, Jason Barnes; one daughter, Janis Hunt and husband Billy, all of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Hayden Hunt, Billy Hunt, Jr., Katrina Johnson, and Orion Barnes; and five great grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Dianne Gold of Wallingford, Rita Sparber of North Carolina, Theresa Robison of Espyville, Pennsylvania, and Karina Haines of Sanford, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Janie was a former employee of the Hillsboro Handy Mart and was a former housekeeper at motels and assisted living facilities. She enjoyed reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Hillsboro Christian Church, 85 Denton Street, Hillsboro, KY 41049 with Brother Jim Hamm officiating.
