George Estill Hunt, age 72, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his residence after a brief illness.
Born December 18, 1953, in Maysville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Robert Hunt and Mary Pugh Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Lytle, and one nephew, Marty Lytle.
George is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Hill Hunt; two stepchildren, Brian Story and wife Patricia of Hillsboro, and Jill Story Price and husband Blake of Flemingsburg; four grandchildren, Luke Story, John Story, Caroline Price, and Sadie Price; three great-nieces; and other extended family members and friends.
George was a retired truck driver. Over the years, he drove for Hackworth Trucking and Hinton Mills and also hauled cattle to local stockyards. He enjoyed farming and especially treasured time spent at family get-togethers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Anderson, Tim Gayhart, William Thompson, Barry Thompson, Jimmy Bradley, Barry Manning, and Anthony Vise.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold D. Sorrell, William E. Humphries, Harold R. Humphries, and Ricky Lewis.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
