Joshua Roy Lewis, age 42, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida, after a brief illness.
Born August 2, 1979, in Morehead, Kentucky, he is the son of Carl and Sue Saunders Lewis of Maysville, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mandi Cheyne Lewis; three children, Kaylin, Elizabeth, and Jaxon; one sister, Donna Lewis Evans of Advance, North Carolina; one brother, Kevin Lewis of Kennesaw, Georgia; two nephews, Jordan Evans and Konrad Lewis; and other extended family and friends.
Josh owned and operated a landscaping business and was a former heavy equipment operator in Kernersville, North Carolina. Josh was a loving son, husband, father and friend. He loved his children fiercely, and would do anything to protect them. Josh loved playing golf, taking the kids to the park playing outside, and fishing, especially with his son Jaxon.
He was the life of the party, Josh was funny, clever, and enjoyed talking to people and getting to know them. More than anything, he loved his family. Josh will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Talmadge and Jeannie Coffey Lewis; maternal grandparents, Roy “Chick” and Beulah Hawkins Saunders; an aunt, Zelma Ramey, and two uncles, Kenneth W. “Buster” Hawkins and Roy “Russie” Saunders.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Hillsboro Christian Church with Brother Gerald Saunder officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Hillsboro Christian Church, 85 Denton Street, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
