Julia Mae (McGlone) Benton

Julia Mae McGlone Benton, age 95, of Colfax, went to be the Lord Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Pioneer Trace Nursing & Rehab in Flemingsburg.

Born August 11, 1928, in Ewing, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Iva Jane Moore McGlone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Benton on April 10, 2002.

Mrs. Benton is survived by one daughter, Jean (Daniel) Jent of Hillsboro; one son, Timothy (Janet) Benton of Flemingsburg; one sister, Margaret McGlone of Grange City; 10 grandchildren, Jamie (Judith) Jent, Lee (AJ) Jent, Donnie (Erika) Jent, Janie Jamison, Jodie (Lonnie) Spivey, Deana Benton, Scotty (Shayla) Benton, Tyler Benton, Anna (Angel) Perez, and Kelly (Gonzalo) Apale; 31 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

She was homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.   Her greatest joy, however, was loving and spending time with her grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed and remembered with love.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Lee Jent officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Daniel Jent, Jamie Jent, Lee Jent, Donnie Jent, Christian Jent, and Tyler Jamison.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, and from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2023, Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
