Kenedy Hope Maze

Kenedy Hope Maze, age 23, of Hillsboro Branch Road, Hillsboro, an Angel in waiting, gained her wings on September 17, 2022, at her home surrounded by family, friends, her cats, and longhorns.

Born March 2, 1999, in Lexington, Kentucky, Kenedy is survived by her parents, Marty and Sandra Kegley Maze; sister Kelly Maze (Dakota Rasche) and her pride and joy, nephew Beckham Brooks Rasche; many fur babies including her favorite cat “Sasha Brook,” Papaw Sonny (Elwood Kegley); Mamaw Maze (Wanda Maze); and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by older sister, Kaylee Brook Maze; maternal grandmother, Barb Kegley; paternal grandfather, J. W. Maze; and best friend, Murelle Plotner. 

Kenedy will be fondly remembered by all as a little salty, a little sassy, and extremely crafty—creating and gifting bracelets, keychains, shirts and more.  In addition to crafting, Kenedy enjoyed her job at The Board Room.  She had more shoes than Shoe Sensation and more clothes than Plato’s Closet—you could say she loved to shop!  “Sometimes the body is weaker than the soul.”

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Cindy Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marty Maze, Dakota Rasche, Mike Price, Zach Drury, Nicholas Drury, Eric Slagle, Gregory Burg, M.D., and Marc Schecter, MD.  Honorary pallbearers will be Papaw Sonny (Elwood Kegley), Madison Purvis, Cheyenne Cassidy, and Alexa Vice.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
