Lela Mae Flora Call, 92, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, passed away peacefully from this earthly life early Monday, October 18, 2021, at The Willows at Hamburg in Lexington.
Born September 12, 1929, in Bath County, she was the daughter of the late George and Hannah Lyman Flora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Day Call on August 27, 2015.
She is survived by one son, Stevie and wife Donna Call of Hillsboro; one daughter, Connie and husband Mike Honaker of Paris; one brother, Tommy Flora of Colorado; four grandchildren, Alicia Murray, Amber Call, Paige Honaker, and Brooke Honaker; and several nieces and nephews.
Lela Mae was a homemaker and attended the Hillsboro Methodist Church and the Poplar Plains Methodist Church. She was a marvelous cook and enjoyed quilting, collecting antiques, and reading.
Private graveside services will be conducted Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Hillsboro Cemetery with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.
Pallbearers: Mike Honaker, Joshua Patton, Jared Cote, Scott Vice, Tim Vise, and Anthony Vise.
At her request, there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to an animal shelter of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
