Nellie Geneva Pettit Taylor, age 86, of Morehead Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.
Born on May 24, 1937, in Grange City, Nellie was the youngest child to the late James Tobe Pettit and Amanda Helen Bradshaw Pettit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Hubert Pettit, Leon Pettit, Bob Pettit, Vernon Pettit, and Emerson Pettit, and two sisters, Madge Wakely and Abby Lovell Caudill.
Nellie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Taylor; two daughters, Beverly Denton of Lexington and Paula Fryman and husband Billy of Ewing; four grandchildren, Jaime Rau of Lexington, Eric Rau and wife Lehua of New York, Mackenzie Fryman and Zachary Fryman, both of Ewing; three great grandchildren, Syrus Farmer and Ella Farmer, both of Lexington and Ilima Rau of New York; many nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Nellie retired from Randall Textron after 3o plus years and was a member of the Fox Valley Christian Church. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nellie brought great joy to many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Marshall, Brother Randy Hawkins, Dr. Jim Rollins, and Billy Fryman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Rau, Zachary Fryman, Elvis Pettit, Ricky Pettit, Dr. Jim Rollins, and Tyler Conley. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Jett, Arthur Linville, Kenny Ramey, Jaime Rau, Mackenzie Fryman, Syrus Farmer, Ella Farmer, and Ilima Rau.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
