Ricky Gene Hawkins

Ricky Gene Hawkins, age 68, of Days Mill Road, Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at U. K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born November 2, 1954, in Fleming County, he was a son of the late Eugene Thomas and Mildred Collins Hawkins.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Riggs, Leota Jett, and Barbara Dye; and one brother, Danny Thomas Hawkins.

Ricky is survived by one son, Jeremy Hawkins and wife Sasha of Hillsboro; two brothers, Mike Hawkins of Hillsboro, and Curtis Hawkins of Tilton; one sister, Margie Johnson of Gary, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

He was a lifelong farmer and was currently an employee for SRG Global in Morehead. Ricky graduated from Fleming County High School and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking.  He will be remembered with love and greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Blake Hawkins, Brandon Hawkins, Branson Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Daryl Hawkins, and Chris Sorrell.     

Honorary pallbearers:  Chucky Ramey, Shane Ramey, and David Dotson.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY  41049.
