Shirley Janice Marshall Jolly, age 70, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg.
Born September 21, 1952, in Flemingsburg, she was a daughter of the late Junior Marshall. and Alice Ann Tedder Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Clinton Marshall (twin to Susan); a sister, Elizabeth Ann White; and father and mother-in-law, David and Anna Lois Kirk Jolly.
Shirley’s husband, Anthony Jolly, preceded her in death on January 18, 2005.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Anthony Marshall (Kerri Moran) of Tilton, Stephen Jolly (Leigh Ann) of Hillsboro, and Cody Jolly (Brittany) of Wallingford, five grandchildren, Taylor (Brady), Sadie, Jack, Kenton, and Kylie; and one great grandson, Baylor.
Other survivors include one brother, Ronald Dean (Barbara) Marshall of Panama City, Florida; three sisters, Pamela Diane Harris of Menifee County, Peggy Lynn (Kurt) Sjolander of Park Falls, Wisconsin, and Susan (Harold) Akers of Mt. Sterling; special friends, Jackie and Nina Pollitt of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Shirley retired after dedicating 34 years of service as an assistant manager for McDonald’s in Flemingsburg and was a life-long farmer. She was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and enjoyed baking, working in her flowers, mowing her yard, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Shirley was a giving person with a big heart. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hamm and Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Shawn Marshall, Ashley Marshall, Brady Madden, Kenton Jolly, Matt Burton, and Bryan Burton
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
