Tammy Jeannine (Curtis) Engle

Tammy Jeannine (Curtis) Engle, age 59, of Colfax, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.  
She was born October 9, 1965, in Flemingsburg to Elizabeth Curtis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Bessie Reeves. 
Tammy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard L. Engle, whom she married June 18, 1983; her mother, Elizabeth (Reeves) Curtis; daughter, Jessica Fullerton and husband Kirby of Lexington, Kentucky; daughter, Cassie Bjorklund and husband Dylan of Winchester, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Reeves, Jane, Elizabeth, and Emma.
Other survivors include special family friend Anthony DeHart, and a host of friends and church family.
Tammy formerly worked at The Citizens Bank in Morehead, Kentucky. She was a prolific reader who loved going to the library to find her next read. Always creative, she could sew, quilt, knit, or crochet beautifully. She loved to garden and took great joy in flowers. Those who knew Tammy knew she had a soft spot for animals, taking in any dog or cat that needed a home. She was a member of the Grange City Christian Church and loved being with her church family while singing songs that brough her much peace. Her strength and perseverance during her long battle was an encouragement to many and she will be greatly missed. 
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  L. D. Pettit, Brad Pettit, Charles “Chubby” Curtis, Monty Jent, Dave Parrott, and Chad Burgess.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
