Virgil Spurlock Obituary

Virgil Newton Spurlock, 93, of Colfax, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Other survivors include one brother, Kenneth “Chester” Spurlock of Goshen, Indiana; two sisters, Barbara Flora (Bobby) and Olive Fultz (Henry), all of Colfax, as well as nieces and nephews, extended family, including his church family, and many friends.

Virgil was a lifelong worker and learner.  He dedicated 32 years of employment to Magellan Aerospace in Middletown, Ohio, where he painted aircraft and space shuttle equipment, including the heat shields for the Apollo and Gemini spacecrafts.  After retiring in 1984, he spent much of his time repairing, painting, building, and inventing things for others.

Virgil was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a dedicated member of the Sharkey Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and a beloved brother who was loved by all who knew him. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
