Virginia Messer McGlone, age 84, of Hope Hill Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
Born November 18, 1940, in Rowan County, Virginia was a daughter of the late Everette Messer and Marie Johnson Messer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo McClone on November 22, 1999; three brothers, James Messer, Emmitt Messer, and Everette Messer, Jr.; and three sisters, Martha Ina Hamm, Sarah Jane Drake, and Mary Jessee.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Workman of Ewing; one special grandson, Bobby Workman of Flemingsburg; three sisters, Sandra Thompson of Delong, Indiana, Minerva Miley of Breman, Indiana, and Phylis Pence of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family, her church family, and friends.
Virginia was homemaker and loved cooking and feeding anyone who entered her home. She attended Wooly Community Church and enjoyed going to church activities and singings. Virginia was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
